Our Installation Policy
We are delighted that you have chosen to use Verdi for your home improvement needs. Contained herewith our some of our most frequently asked questions to help you to prepare for your impending works.
Access
Irrespective of the agreed works we would be very grateful if you could take the time to consider access to the area including ingress and egress in order to fully prepare for the works due to be carried out. Where relevant please remove any furniture, home furnishings, electronics (including alarms, door bells etc) and ornaments from the surrounding area as although our Installers take all due care this helps to limit any unnecessary damage. Where works to the property require external access please re park any vehicles in order that they are not obstructing access or could become damaged during the installation process. If in any doubt, please speak to our surveyor for clarity.
Please note that our installers are unable to remove / fit curtains, blinds, alarm systems, aerials, wires or electronic doorbells as Verdi recommends the instruction of a specialist contractor in these circumstances.
Replacement of any bricks and tiles will be matched to the best of our ability however inconsistencies in fabrication and availability of some bricks and tiles may result in a differential in the finish which is beyond our control.
Roof Coating
The area will be prepared using cleaning equipment during which it is likely that any loose or crumbling mortar will become dislodged. All repointing will be carried out to reinstate the mortar as needed to an aesthetic standard. Repointing works are guaranteed by Verdi for a period of 12 months post treatment.
Ridge tiles that have become loose will be re-bedded and repointed as may be required.
The entire visible façade of the tile will be treated using the ProPerla paint system, meaning that any easily seen edges will also be treated.
Your roof will be finished with a water-resistant paint used to protect the tiles and allow for further longevity but cannot be used in place of a replacement roof product.
Whilst the will reduce the amount of organic growth on your roof it will not eliminate this completely and thus some regrowth of moss and other plant life may occur.
Wall Coating
The area will be initially prepared by removing any flaking render or mortar. Cracked areas will be ground out and filled to create a good aesthetic finish once treatment is completed. Should you wish for further rendering works to be carried out, this can be achieved for an additional charge.
Windows, doors and any other fixtures will be protected to the best of our installers ability. It is recommended that any removable items such as lighting, signage or ornamental products are removed in anticipation of the commencement of the treatment.
Your walls will be finished with water-resistant paint which has protective and high aesthetic qualities, however this product cannot be used instead of replacement render. Any inconsistencies in the finish underneath may therefore still be visible.
Windows & Doors
Every effort will be taken to prevent damage to your decoration but on occasion this is regrettably unavoidable. Unfortunately, Verdi Home Improvements cannot accept liability to damage to wallpaper and other redecoration works. Plaster works will be made good internally to an aesthetic standard, external render will be repaired but not painted, window horns will be reinstated as required.
Trims will be used internally and externally where appropriate to allow for a double seal on all windows and door products.
Roof & Roof Trim Products
